Disaster recovery on AWS, tested before you need it.

A backup becomes a recovery plan the first time someone restores from it under pressure and it works. We set your recovery targets, build the architecture that meets them, and rehearse the failover with your engineers until it is boring.

We're an AWS Advanced Tier Partner with the Digital Workplace and Generative AI competencies.

What resilience is

Resilience is knowing how quickly you could be back, and having proved it rather than assumed it. We get you there in three stages, over a few weeks, covering a defined set of systems rather than everything at once.

01

Set the targets

How long each system can be down, and how much data you can afford to lose. Agreed with the people who carry the business impact, not assumed by IT alone.

Recovery time and recovery point, per workload
02

Build to meet them

The recovery pattern that hits those numbers at sensible cost, with backups, dependencies and runbooks written for whoever is on call rather than whoever built it.

Architecture, backups and runbooks
03

Prove it works

A real failover and restore, timed, run by your engineers with us alongside. You finish with a recovery time you have measured and evidence you can hand an auditor.

Rehearsal and written evidence
Every team has some answer to this already

Three ways to handle recovery.

The first two are common, and the difference between them and the third only shows up once.

Trust the backups

They run, the job reports success, and nobody has restored from them in anger. Usually fine. Occasionally catastrophic.

No extra spend · recovery time unknown · found out during the incident

Pay for standby you never test

A second environment on the invoice every month, built once and not exercised since. Comfort, without the evidence.

Ongoing cost · configuration drifts · still unproven on the day

Set targets and prove them

Decide what the business can tolerate, build to that, then rehearse it. The result is a number you can state with confidence.

A scoped project · a tested recovery time · evidence you can show

Worth being clear: most workloads do not need the expensive pattern. Knowing which ones do is most of the value.

Whether this is worth your time

Worth a conversation

  • Systems where a day of downtime would be a serious problem
  • Backups nobody has restored from in the last twelve months
  • An auditor, insurer or customer asking for proof of recovery
  • A recovery plan written for people who have since left

Probably not us

  • A rehearsed DR programme already running on a schedule
  • Workloads where an outage is genuinely tolerable for days
  • Looking only for a document to satisfy a checkbox
  • Nothing in AWS, and no plans to be

Twenty minutes, and you'll know where you stand

A conversation with an engineer who has run these recoveries, not a discovery call with a salesperson. What we cover:

  • Which systems would hurt most, and how quickly they would need to be back
  • What your backups cover today, and when they were last restored
  • Which recovery pattern fits, and what it would cost to run
  • What a rehearsal would involve for your team
  • Whether what you have is already good enough, which we will say if it is
